Belgaum Attractions - Belgaum (also known as Belgavi) has several interesting places for the tourists to see. Belgaum city is situated in the northwestern parts of Karnataka and lies at the border of Maharashtra and Goa states, near the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range (Western Ghats), and enjoys a cool salubrious climate. It is one of the oldest states of Karnataka, and is surrounded by abundant natural beauty, lying at a distance of 502 km from Bangalore and 500 km from Mumbai.

Kannada and Marathi are the spoken languages here, and Belgaum culture is influenced by both these languages. The Second World Kannada Meet of 2011 was held in Belgaum during March. Being the divisional headquarters of north Karnataka, Belgaum is also a commercial hub.

  • Belgaum Fort - 4 kms away from the city, built in 12th century AD, it is one of the oldest forts of Karnataka.
  • Kittoor Fort - 50 kms away, this Fort is associated with Kittoor Rani Chennamma.
  • Vajrapoha Falls - 8.5 kms away.
  • Parasgad Fort - 97kms away 
  • Gokakh Water Falls - 60 km away from Belgaum city
  • Yellamma Temple - 70 kms away
  • Kapileswara Temple  - one of the oldest temples of Belgaum. It is called as "Dakshina Kashi" and it is believed that the journey of thte 12 Jyotirlingas of India is said to be incomplete without a visit to Kapileshwara temple. 
  • Parsi Fire Temple (Agiyari) - consecrated in 1891. Entry to the temple is restricted only to Parsi community.
