Palaces of South India: South India is known for its unique culture and heritage.

South India is blessed with many historic and beautiful palaces of different sytles. Among the other monuments of this land, the palaces also unfold a whole new world of historical, architectural, cultural, traditional and religious legacy and past of this beautiful land - southern part of India.

Many dynasties ruled this glorious land, such as Pallavas, Chalukyas, Cholas, Kakatiyas, Vijayanagaram Kings, Qutub Shahis, Mughals, Asaf Jahis, Nayaks, Wodeyars, Tipu Sultan etc. They have built many ancient temples, forts, tombs, palaces, caves etc over a span of centuries. These historic monuments are real treasures of India, which are being preserved with great importance. Some of these monuments in India are also pilgrimage centers for various religions.

These palaces are as grand in architecture, as lavish in ornamentation and as graceful to see as the palaces of North India.

Some of these ancient palaces have been renovated and converted into Museums. Some others have been converted into heritage hotels. These palaces of Southern India attract domestic tourists as well as foreign tourists.
