Kuruvadweep Attractions

Kuruvadweep is a group of islets, located about 17 kms east of Mananthavady in the northern district of Wayanad, Kerala. These islets are located in one of the tributaries of the River Kabini, which is close to the border of Karnataka.

What is interesting here?

You can see a variety of vegetation, some rare orchids and wild flowers. These islets are also haven for the migratory birds. One of the main islets has two small fresh water lakes. You can see hornbills, parrots and many butterfly species here.

The boughs of the huge trees of these islets at some places stoop down and caress the river water. Spending some time under the cool shades of these big trees and listening to the lullaby of the gurgling river, is a great way of enjoying some serene moments with nature.

For nature lovers and the people who love trekking, Kuruvadweep provides a wonderful eco system.
